Most "we monitor everything" pages do not name the venues. This page does. Add a taken name once. We watch the auctions and marketplaces listed below and tell you when a path to buy shows up. Reviewed 9 September 2026.

How to read this

If you are trying to buy a taken name, you need two lists: where it can go to auction, and where it can be listed for sale. Both run on the same watch. SnapNames and NameJet include Available Soon, which is the pre-auction list, not a live bid yet.

For the job this coverage supports, see the best domain monitoring service for a name you want to buy. For auction mechanics, see domain auctions explained.

What this is not

This is a coverage list, not a ranking of which venue sells the most names. Depth still varies by TLD because registries publish different records. The aftermarket layer sits on top of that.

Frequently asked questions

Can I monitor a domain I do not own yet?

Yes. That is the main use case. Add the taken name. We watch public registry status, DNS, the website, auctions, and marketplaces. No registrar login is required. You can mix owned names and acquisition targets in the same account.

Does Notify.domains watch SnapNames and NameJet?

Yes. Live auctions on both, plus Available Soon. Available Soon means the name is expected to hit auction later. It is not a live bid yet. We alert on that so you can prepare, then again if a live auction opens. You bid in your own SnapNames or NameJet account.

Can you notify me when a domain goes to GoDaddy Auctions or DropCatch?

Yes. Add the name once. GoDaddy Auctions, DropCatch, and the other auction venues in the list above run on the same watch as marketplace listings on GoDaddy, Sedo, Spaceship, and Namecheap. The alert names the venue. We do not place the bid or the purchase.

What is the difference between auction coverage and marketplace coverage?

Auctions are timed sales with a bid and a close, such as GoDaddy Auctions, DropCatch, SnapNames, and NameJet. Marketplaces are buy-it-now or make-offer listings, such as GoDaddy, Sedo, Spaceship, and Namecheap. A name can show up in either. One watch covers both.

Does Notify.domains bid, backorder, or buy the domain for me?

No. We notify. You bid, backorder, or buy in your own account at the venue. That keeps you in control of the number.

How often do you check each domain?

30+ automated checks per domain per day. Auction and marketplace listings are part of that same cadence, so you normally hear the same day a listing appears.

Is this only for domain investors?

No. A founder watching one taken .com uses the same watch as someone with a longer list. You do not configure a separate GoDaddy watch and DropCatch watch. The alert names the site and the next step.
