Email Alerts for Domain Changes

Email is the default place to get Notify.domains alerts. Urgent changes arrive as instant emails. Everything else rolls up into a daily summary at the hour you pick. You can add extra recipients on a per-domain basis, each confirmed with an opt-in invite, so the right people see the right domains.

Setup

  1. 1

    Confirm the account email

Every Notify.domains account has one account email. Instant and daily summary emails both go to that address by default. To change it, open your Profile, edit Email address, and save.

  2. 2

    Pick your daily summary time

In ProfileNotifications, turn Daily summary email on or off and set the hour it should arrive in your timezone. One email per day covers everything that changed across your watched domains.

  3. 3

Add per-domain recipients and toggle instant email

Open any domain in the dashboard and click Notifications. Flip Send instant email on for yourself, and add teammates under Add another email. Each added address gets an opt-in invite and only starts receiving alerts once they confirm. Remove anyone from that same modal at any time.

What you get

Instant email

Fires the moment an event happens on domains where you have instant email turned on. Best for the urgent tier: pending delete, auction appeared, marketplace listing, status changes.

Per-domain recipients

Add as many email addresses as you want on a per-domain basis. Send legal signals to legal@, ops signals to ops@, and client-specific domains to a shared inbox or the client directly.

Opt-in invites

Each added recipient receives a one-click confirmation email and only starts getting alerts after they accept. No one can quietly redirect notifications without the recipient agreeing first.

Daily summary

One email per day with everything that changed, delivered at the hour you pick in your timezone. Great for routine monitoring without the interruptions.

Per-event mute toggles

Quiet the noisy stuff: SSL certificate renewals, A and AAAA record churn, registrant whois noise, and transient DNS blips. Changes still appear in-app if you want them.

Detail level

Choose Actionable only to see what needs a decision, or All changes to see every signal. Applies to instant emails, the daily summary, Slack, and webhooks.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send alerts to more than one address?

Yes. On any domain, open Notifications in the dashboard and use Add another email to invite teammates. Each new recipient gets an opt-in email and starts receiving alerts once they confirm. Extra recipients are scoped per-domain, so you can route legal signals to legal, ops signals to ops, and client-specific domains to that client.

Do new recipients start getting emails immediately?

No. An address you add shows as Pending until the recipient clicks the confirm link in the invite. Only confirmed addresses receive alerts. You can remove anyone (pending or confirmed) from the same modal.

Can I pipe alert emails into a ticket system?

Yes. Add your ticketing system inbound address (Zendesk, Help Scout, Linear, Front, etc.) as a per-domain recipient. Every alert on that domain becomes a ticket. Make sure the ticket system can complete the opt-in click, or confirm the invite yourself from an inbox that receives the message.

Will I get spammed by email?

Only if you configure it that way. The default is the daily summary on and instant emails off on new domains, so you choose which domains are loud enough to interrupt you. Per-event mute toggles also quiet the noisy categories (SSL cert renewals, A and AAAA record churn, whois noise) across everything.

Can I stop emails entirely and only get Slack or webhooks?

Yes. Turn instant email off on every domain and turn the daily summary off in your profile. Alerts still reach Slack and any custom webhook you have connected.
