Swap or Delete a Domain Anytime
Founder, Notify.domains · ex-GoDaddy Director of Education · founder, DomainSherpa & DNAcademy
When we launched Notify.domains on April 15, 2026, paid subscribers could swap one domain per month and delete one domain per month. We thought people might cycle names to avoid paying for extra seats. They did not.
The monthly cap is gone. You can swap a domain whenever you want. You can delete a name and add a different one whenever you want. Fewer restrictions, same monitoring.
What changed
On a paid plan, Swap still replaces one domain name with another while keeping the same paid slot. Your plan size does not change. The old domain leaves your list. The new one starts a fresh monitoring run. You can do that as often as you need.
Delete still removes a domain from your watch list. On a paid plan with more than one domain, we reduce your seat count by one and add prorated credit for the time left until renewal. Use that credit when you add another domain later in the same billing year. Unused credit still expires at renewal. We do not refund your card.
Adds were never limited to once a month. If you want more names, you add them and pay, or apply credit, as before. The change is that you are no longer waiting until next month to reshuffle the names you already pay for. Swap when you still want the same number of seats. Delete when you want a smaller plan, then add later if a new name is worth a seat.
Where to do it
Open a domain so the details panel is showing. Swap is the loop-arrow control next to notifications. Delete is the trash can. Type DELETE to confirm a removal. Both sit in the same action row as before.
For the full walkthrough of swap versus delete, see adding and managing domains. The same rules live in domain name monitoring.
One remaining guard: if a name is the only domain on a subscription that still renews, delete stays blocked until you cancel renewal on the Billing page. If renewal is already cancelled, you can stop monitoring that last name. Swap still needs an active subscription. Trial accounts still cannot swap or delete.
Why this matters
Portfolios change. You acquire the domain name you were watching and want that slot on a new target. You drop a domain that went quiet and pick up one that just listed. You sell a domain and the next watchlist candidate is already sitting in a notepad. Waiting a calendar month for permission to do that was a tax on people who already pay us.
We put the cap in at launch because we had no usage data yet. A hard monthly limit is a blunt way to stop someone from treating one paid seat like an unlimited scanner. Real customers did not do that. They swapped when a better name showed up. They deleted when a name was done. We would rather serve you than keep a restriction nobody needed.
Who this helps
Investors rotating watchlists as auctions and marketplace asks appear. Founders who bought the brand they were monitoring and want the slot on the next one. Brokers who need to reshuffle client names without waiting for a monthly reset. Operators who treat their seat count as a working set, not a frozen list.
If your process was “I will swap it on the first of the month,” you can stop doing that. Change the name when the reason to watch it changes.
