Watch a domain from ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or another AI assistant
Founder, Notify.domains · ex-GoDaddy Director of Education · founder, DomainSherpa & DNAcademy
You can ask ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or other AI assistants if a domain is available. For a common name, you might get an answer for that moment because the LLM can ask RDAP for registration information. For a country-code ending, you likely won’t get valid information.
Ask whether it is for sale. If it’s at a large marketplace, you might get a price. If it’s at a smaller marketplace, or is a domain name the owner has listed on their own website, you’ll most likely not get the information. No price, and no terms like lease-to-own or make offers encouraged.
After a name expires, a registrar often hands the domain name to an auction partner, and that auction can be the only place it is for sale. An AI assistant won’t show it to you. You may not even hear that it was in auction, or if you do you’ll likely learn about it only after the auction has ended.
Most of the life of a domain never shows up in an AI assistant chat.
You might get one real chance every few years. A general assistant won’t help you. That takes a specialized watch built for domain names.
But you can now connect your AI assistant to Notify.domains and have it watch the name you want. OpenClaw and Hermes can connect the same way. You approve the connection in your browser. After that, the assistant can start the watch and tell you what changed.
What you can ask it to watch
Name the domain. The watch covers expiration, grace, redemption, and pending delete, a listing for sale, a price change, and an auction. It also covers a registrar change, a lock, nameservers, whether the site resolves, the certificate, and DNS.
An auction alert can name GoDaddy Auctions, DropCatch, NameJet, SnapNames, Sedo, or another venue on auction alerts. A for-sale alert can name GoDaddy, Sedo, Atom, Spaceship, or another resale venue on domain name monitoring.
Ask what changed. You get the same wording as the dashboard. Email, Slack, Telegram, and a webhook still send while you are away from the chat. You can tell the assistant to turn product emails off. Billing and security mail stay on. The watch stays on.
You approve it in the browser
The assistant opens a Notify.domains page. You click Allow there. A new account starts a 7-day trial on the first domain, with no card. An existing account signs in, then approves.
The assistant adds a name only after you confirm. On a paid plan it doesn’t add the name itself. It sends you to the dashboard so you can see the charge before you confirm. You type the card on the billing page. The assistant never sees it.
After you allow it, you get an email that names the app. If it was you, no action is needed. If it was not, the email links to where you disconnect it.

ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, OpenClaw, and Hermes
ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor are the assistants most people connect first. OpenClaw and Hermes work the same way. If the assistant can send you to a browser page to approve a connection, it can watch a name here. The address and the steps are on the AI assistant page.
The watch runs on Notify.domains. The assistant reads the alerts, and it can start the account. You still pay on the billing page. We do not bid, backorder, or buy the name.
Disconnect without cancelling
Notification Settings lists each app you allowed, when it connected, when it was last used, and a Disconnect button. Removing the app stops it. That doesn’t cancel the plan, and it doesn’t stop the watch.

Who this helps
Founders waiting on a company name. Investors and brokers with a short list of targets. Anyone who already lives in ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, OpenClaw, or Hermes and doesn’t want a second habit for checking whether the name is listed yet.
We tell you when the name can be registered, when it is listed for sale, and when it goes to auction. If you want it the day that window opens, you still place the order. The longer path is how to get a domain that is already taken.
Questions in-app? Use the chat. We are happy to walk through a specific name.
