Notify.domains vs Domainyze

Domainyze is the closest product to ours on this list. Its homepage calls it "Domain Lifecycle Monitoring & Intelligence." A watchlist tracks names you do not own. It names grace, redemption, and pending delete, shows the EPP codes, and forecasts a drop date. In the drop window it checks every two minutes on Pro and every minute on Business. Paid plans add auction and closeout alerts. Its marketplace page names GoDaddy Auctions, Dynadot, and SnapNames. Its help center names GoDaddy and Dynadot.

The difference is everywhere else the name can turn up. An owner can list it on Sedo, Atom, or Spaceship on a Tuesday. A Network Solutions name goes to NameJet when it expires. A Namecheap name goes to Namecheap's own auction. The site can go dark for a month before any status flips. Notify.domains watches those too: the registry, the website, and eleven auction houses and eleven marketplaces by name. We notify. We do not bid or backorder. Neither does Domainyze.

Which one to use

Choose Domainyze if

You watch hundreds of names and want lifecycle stages and drop forecasts at a low price per name. Pro covers 200 names for $199 a year. You plan to register at the drop by hand and want checks every couple of minutes in that window. Or you want DNS and SSL alerts on domains you already own, and an MCP connection for Claude or Cursor.

Choose Notify.domains if

The name is taken and you do not know where it will surface. It could be a Sedo listing, a NameJet auction, a price cut on Atom, or a site that goes dark months before expiry. You want one watch on the registry, the website, and every venue we cover, with the next step in the alert.

For a name other people want, a backorder at the right drop-catch service usually beats registering by hand at the drop. We tell you which services cover the extension.

Domainyze and Notify.domains, feature by feature

Domainyze's homepage, pricing page, marketplace monitoring page, watchlist, drop-catching, notifications, MCP, and API pages, and its help center, were read on 7 November 2026. The marketplace page names GoDaddy Auctions, Dynadot, and SnapNames. The help center names GoDaddy and Dynadot. "Not advertised" means it was not on the pages we read.

What Domainyze does well

Lifecycle is the core, and it is thorough. Every stage from grace to available, with the EPP code. A drop runway on the free plan and an estimated date on paid ones. Drop-imminent alerts a day and an hour out, and ten minutes out on Business. Missed-drop reporting. Bulk paste on every plan, CSV on paid ones.

Around that sit wantlists, which are saved marketplace searches with a twice-daily digest, EstiBot valuations, a typosquat check, and an MCP server with 21 tools for Claude, Cursor, and VS Code. If you hold a few hundred names, or you scan for drops in volume, the price per name is hard to beat. At 200 names Domainyze is far cheaper than we are, and we would rather say that than have you find it on your own.

Where a taken name actually turns up

Expired names go where the registrar sends them. GoDaddy, Name.com, and eNom names go to GoDaddy Auctions. Dynadot, NameSilo, and Porkbun names generally go to Dynadot. Network Solutions names go to SnapNames and NameJet. Namecheap names go to Namecheap's auction. Domainyze covers the GoDaddy and Dynadot paths, and SnapNames by one of its pages. The others are where a Domainyze watch stays quiet. How domain drops work has the full path.

Owners do not wait for expiry either. A name can be listed for sale on Sedo, Atom, Spaceship, or GoDaddy's marketplace at any time, sometimes at a different price on each. None of those listings change the registry record. Domain auction alerts lists every venue we cover.

The months before a status changes

Long before a name enters grace, the owner often stops caring in public. The site stops loading. Mail records disappear. The certificate lapses. The nameservers move to a parking page or a for-sale lander. Domainyze watches DNS and SSL on portfolio names you own. On a name you want, those signals are the early warning, and we watch them on every name. Domain distress signals explains what each one tends to mean.

Frequently asked questions

For buying a specific taken name, yes. Both watch names you do not own and track the lifecycle. Notify.domains adds the auction houses and marketplaces Domainyze does not name, like Sedo, NameJet, DropCatch, Atom, and Spaceship, and the website layer. For lifecycle and drop forecasts on hundreds of names at a low price per name, Domainyze is the better fit.
No. Domainyze (domainyze.com) is a lifecycle and drop-forecast platform. Domainy (domainy.io) is a domain search tool with an availability watchlist. Different companies. Domainy compared is its own page.
Its marketplace page, read on 7 November 2026, names GoDaddy Auctions, Dynadot, and SnapNames, across auction, closeout, and buy-now listings. Its help center says coverage is GoDaddy and Dynadot. Auction alerts are on Pro and Business. Sedo, NameJet, DropCatch, Namecheap, and the other houses were not named.
As of 7 November 2026: free for 5 names, Pro at $19 a month or $199 a year for 200 names, Business at $39 a month or $399 a year for 500. It does not offer time-based trials on paid plans. Notify.domains is $24 a year for the first name, after a 7-day trial with no card.
Domainyze, by a wide margin. Our volume discounts start at four names and still leave us well above its price per name at 200. Use Domainyze for the long list if lifecycle is all you need. Use Notify.domains for the names you would actually pay for, where a Sedo listing or a NameJet auction matters.
Yes. They do not conflict. A common split is Domainyze across a wide watchlist for drop forecasts, and Notify.domains on the short list you would buy at auction or from the owner.
No. Domainyze says it does not bid on, register, or resell names. We do not either. We tell you which venue the name reached and which drop-catch services cover the extension. You place the bid or the backorder. How backorders work.
