Notify.domains vs DomainIQ
Founder, Notify.domains · ex-GoDaddy Director of Education · founder, DomainSherpa & DNAcademy
DomainIQ promises to "find out everything about a domain name or IP address." It is a research platform. Reverse WHOIS, registrant heatmaps, DNS and hosting history, snapshot history, zone files, lookalike and typo monitors, and an EstiBot valuation. Its domain monitor watches up to 1,000 names on Pro for registration and ownership changes, and it says it tracks a name as it expires. Alerts come by email, daily. Its plans page says most domain investors pick Pro.
Research tells you who owns a name and what it has been. A buyer also needs to know what the name is doing now. Listed on Sedo this morning. In a NameJet auction next week. Cut 30 percent on Atom. The site went dark. DomainIQ names no auction house and no marketplace, and it does not watch the website. Notify.domains watches those on every name you add, throughout the day.
Which one to use
Choose DomainIQ if
You research owners and portfolios. You want reverse WHOIS, registrant and registrar monitors, daily lists of expiring names on Expert, bulk WHOIS, and an anonymous way to contact an owner with an offer. Or you are an attorney, investigator, or security analyst who needs reports more than alerts.
Choose Notify.domains if
You already know which name you want, and you want to be told the moment there is a way to buy it: a listing, an auction, a price cut, a drop. You also want the signals that come before those, like the site going dark or the nameservers moving to a for-sale lander.
DomainIQ and Notify.domains, feature by feature
DomainIQ's homepage, plans page, FAQ, tools page, brand monitor page, and enterprise page were read on 7 November 2026. Some of its own pages disagree on limits; we quote the plans table. "Not advertised" means it was not on the pages we read.

What DomainIQ is good at
Breadth of research. Reverse WHOIS and identity discovery tie an owner to the rest of their names. The Domain Continuity Check shows re-registrations after a drop, owner changes, and nameserver moves. The Portfolio Analyzer and registrar research tools help size up a seller. More than fifteen years of data, all based in the United States, by its own description. Keyword, typo, trademark, registrant, registrar, and nameserver monitors all send daily email.
If you need to know who you are negotiating with, that is useful before you make an offer. It is not the same as knowing when the name becomes buyable.
Research, then a long wait
Most taken names are not bought the week you find them. The owner ignores the first email. The name renews. A year later it shows up on a marketplace at a price, or it expires and goes to whichever auction house the registrar uses. Hearing about it first is most of the advantage.
That waiting period is what Notify.domains is for. One watch covers the registry, the website, eleven auction houses, and eleven marketplaces, and each alert names the next step. How to get a domain that is taken covers the full playbook, including when to make an offer and when to wait.

The features behind this watch
All featuresComplete Monitoring
All of the above on one watch: registration data, website health, auctions, marketplaces, and drop timing, at 30+ checks a day per domain.
Auction Platforms
Expiring domains are sold at auction long before they drop, and each registrar uses a different venue. We watch them all so you do not have to guess which one to check.
Website Signals
Watch the website itself for distress. Downtime, an expired certificate, or a redirect to a new brand often shows up months before a name reaches the open market.
