Notify.domains vs Visualping
Founder, Notify.domains · ex-GoDaddy Director of Education · founder, DomainSherpa & DNAcademy
Visualping checks web pages on a schedule you choose and emails a visual comparison when something changes. It is good at it: checks as often as every 2 minutes, pages behind a login, AI summaries of what changed, and an API and MCP server on every plan, including the free one. Its own guide to domain monitoring suggests watching a registrar page or a WHOIS lookup page to see when a name becomes available.
That works for one page you already know. A taken name can change in a dozen places, and most of them are not a page you can point at today. A Sedo or Atom listing has no URL until the owner lists it. An expired-domain auction at GoDaddy or NameJet does not exist until the name expires. A WHOIS page shows one record from one source. Notify.domains watches the registry, the website, and eleven auction houses and eleven marketplaces for the name itself, with nothing to set up but the domain.
Which one to use
Choose Visualping if
You need to watch specific pages for any reason: a competitor's pricing page, a terms of service page, a job board, a government notice. You want visual diffs, AI summaries, and an API or MCP connection on the free plan. For domain work, it is useful for a page we do not watch, such as a broker's portfolio page.
Choose Notify.domains if
The thing you care about is a domain, not a page. You want to know when the name is listed anywhere, auctioned anywhere, cut in price, or heading for the drop, and you do not want to guess which URLs to watch before those pages exist.
Visualping and Notify.domains, feature by feature
Visualping's pricing page and its guide "Domain Monitoring: The Complete Guide for 2026" (updated 26 February 2026) were read on 7 November 2026. The check math below uses its published plan limits. "Not advertised" means it was not on the pages we read.
| Capability | Visualping | Notify.domains |
|---|---|---|
| What you watch | Pages you choose, by URL | A domain name. We know where to look |
| Setup per domain | Find and add each page yourself | Type the domain |
| Registry lifecycle | Only if you watch a WHOIS page, and only what that page shows | Grace, redemption, pending delete, transfer lock, registrar and registrant changes, available |
| Drop and backorder guidance | Not advertised | Backorder window, estimated drop day on paid plans, and the drop-catch services that cover the extension |
| Expired-domain auctions | Only an auction page that already exists and that you added | GoDaddy Auctions, Dynadot, Sedo, Namecheap, NameJet, SnapNames, DropCatch, Catched, Park.io, Docky.ly, Gname |
| Marketplace listings and price changes | Only a listing page that already exists and that you added | GoDaddy, Sedo, Atom, Spaceship, Namecheap, Dynadot Market, Porkbun, Efty, NamePros, Gname, Unstoppable Domains, with the percent change |
| The site on the domain | Yes, visual and text changes on any page | Up or down, redirects, title and description changes, homepage screenshot |
| DNS, SSL, blocklist | Not advertised | Yes |
| What an alert says | What changed on the page, with a screenshot and an optional AI summary | What changed on the domain, what it tends to mean, and the next step |
| Alert channels | Email, webhook, Zapier, Telegram, n8n on every plan. SMS from Personal 5K. Slack, Teams, Discord on Business | In-app, instant email, Slack, Telegram, webhook, twice-monthly digest |
| AI assistant | API and MCP server on every plan | Yes. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor to add names and read alerts |

You cannot watch a page that does not exist yet
Page monitoring assumes you know the URL. On a domain you want, the most important pages show up later. The owner creates a listing on Sedo, Atom, Spaceship, or GoDaddy's marketplace. The name expires and a GoDaddy Auctions or NameJet page appears. A drop-catch service catches it and an auction opens at DropCatch. Each of those is a new URL on a different site, and you find out about it only if something tells you it is there.
That is the part we do. Add the domain and we watch every venue we cover for it, so a new listing or auction is the alert, not something you go looking for. Domain auction alerts lists every venue.
What a page-by-page setup costs
Say you watch one domain the page-by-page way: the site itself, a WHOIS lookup, and listing or search pages on eight venues. That is 10 pages. Checked hourly, it is about 7,200 checks a month. Visualping's Personal 1K plan has 1,000 checks a month, so this lands on Personal 10K, which is $70 a month or $600 a year, for one name. Checked every few hours instead, it fits a smaller plan, but it is still one name and still only the pages you thought of.
Notify.domains is $24 a year for the first name and covers all of it. If you need page monitoring for other work, keep Visualping for that. See our pricing for more names.

The features behind this watch
All featuresComplete Monitoring
All of the above on one watch: registration data, website health, auctions, marketplaces, and drop timing, at 30+ checks a day per domain.
Auction Platforms
Expiring domains are sold at auction long before they drop, and each registrar uses a different venue. We watch them all so you do not have to guess which one to check.
Website Signals
Watch the website itself for distress. Downtime, an expired certificate, or a redirect to a new brand often shows up months before a name reaches the open market.
